AUNTY GERALDINE PAGE

Aunty Geraldine is a proud Mununjali woman and Community Elder. In her capacity as a member of the GOLDOC Yugambeh Elders Advisory Group, Geraldine provided the Welcome to Country at the Opening of the Broadbeach Convention Centre, alongside Uncle John Graham, and at the Opening for the Gymnastics program during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018).

Geraldine was a member of the Mununjali and Yugambeh Elders who took part in the GC2018 Opening Ceremony segment which was curated by her brother Stephen Page, the Artistic Director of the Bangarra Dance Theatre. This was a proud moment for Geraldine with this component of the ceremony unveiling local Totem, a giant Wedge-Tailed Eagle, which was digitally spread across the arena stage, its wings a sign of protection for those under its watch.

Geraldine has made a significant contribution to her Community, which has included working with the Scenic Rim Beaudesert High School and Beaudesert State School and other organisations. In her spare time, you’ll find Geraldine spending time with her family, traveling and reading. Geraldine is The Chair and contact person for the Traditional Mununjali Elders.

Geraldine has a passion for Rugby League and is excited to be working with the YRACA Board to share her ideas, ambitions and experiences.
